The Widow And Her Maids

An industrious widow hired many maids to help her. 

She woke them up early every morning at cockcrow. The maids disliked waking up so early in the morning to work, thinking it was all the fault of the cock. The maids decided to kill the cock so that their mistress would not wake them up so early in the morning.
