The Farmer And His Sons

A farmer, at the point of death, wished to show his sons the secret to successful farming. He gathered his sons round him and said,"My sons, I am about to leave this world. All that I've left for you can be found in the vineyard. Dig, and you will find the hidden treasures."



As soon as the old man was dead, the sons sweated and laboured, digging in the vineyard. They turned over the soil again and again, but could find no treasure.



However, the vines were strengthened and improved by this thorough tillage. The grapes that emerged were big and juicy, and produced the best vintage ever. This more than repaid the brothers for all their hard work.

Moral

Fortune does not come by itself. Industry in itself is a treasure.
