It is like a burning candle.
A lustrous glow,
Exuding warmth and a subtle romance.
So long as there is no strong wind
To make the flame flicker or sway
It burns with a sweet resolve.
But wait!

But wait!
What goes on beneath the flame?
A slow melting, signifying something wonderful and beautiful.
A giving- self-effacing, self-sacrificing.
In its mission to light up all around
The slow ‘self-sacrificing’ beauty of the waxen body is forgotten.

The lit candle glimmers and glows exuding light and warmth.
Light and warmth alone does not make a candle,
Just as joy and roses alone don’t make a marriage,
Little gusts will unsteady a flame.
Little problems will leave a marriage shaken.
A lot has to be given, shared, and borne with courage.
So as to keep the flames burning
Shade the flame with steady hands and a loving heart.
No strong gust can blow it out.
