Men can hide in the uniformity of a grey suit and simply make themselves invisible.  Everything a woman wears makes a statement about how she feels about herself and the world.  Since our clothes are an extension of us, it makes sense to use them positively.

Clothes that should,”Look at me!” are fine if you have a voice and style loud enough to match.  If not, your presence as a person will be overshadowed.

Unless you are very confident about clothes, do not buy something new for a big event.  Go in comfortable clothing that you won’t have to think about.  Avoid ill-fitting clothes: skirts you have to tug at, straps that fall off, anything that makes you feel self-conscious.
