A cowardly old man had an only son who was courageous and loved hunting. One day, he dreamt that his son was killed by a lion.
Afraid that the dream should prove true, he built a huge and beautiful house. He confined his son in the house.
To amuse his son, he adorned the walls with many animals, including the lion. Seeing these drawings, the young man grieved even more.
The young man scratched wildly on the wall. But a splinter pierced his finger, causing him great pain.
Inflammation and fever followed, and the young man died soon after. Thus the father did not manage to prevent the son from being killed by a lion, though it was only a drawing on the wall.
Moral
It is better for us to face our fate bravely than try to escape it.
