Christmas Crafts For Teenagers

Christmas is a time of sharing, giving and joy. The Three Wise Men gave gifts to Baby Jesus and it has since been a custom to give gifts to your loved ones and friends as a part of Christmas tradition. To sit by the hearth on Christmas morning, indulging in hot cocoa while opening your presents is a heartwarming delight. The thought of giving a gift is just as celebratory as the celebration itself! Getting together with family, cooking delicious meals and decorating you house and tree is just as exciting as the Christmas season. How about involving young, creative and fresh minds to add to the festivities and the decorative facets of Christmas? This year, get your teenagers involved in making Christmas crafts for either the tree or for the people in your family; more so, for the pure joy of being a part of the Christmas spirit. Here are a few craft ideas for those young minds.

Crafts For Christmas
There are many things you can do for Christmas, but making something on your own for either decorations or even as greetings will surely get you into the Christmas spirit.

Bead-Button Teacup
Decorate a teacup with buttons and bead to give as a present.

Things You Need
  • A teacup in a bold and black color
  • Buttons and bead (different sizes and colors)
  • Hot glue-gun; if you don't want to use a hot glue gun, you can always use liquid glue instead
  • Tweezers
Method:
  • Make sure the teacup is dust free.
  • Use a hot glue gun or liquid glue to spread the glue.
  • Use tweezers and place the buttons and beads on your teacup.
  • Add some decoration on the saucer too!
Note: Always use tweezers when using a hot glue gun as the glue gun can cause burns.

Bath Salts
Another great DIY craft is making bath salts to give as a gift to your friends or family. It's really easy to make.

Things You Need
  • Mixing Bowl
  • 2 cups Epsom Salts
  • 1 cup Sea Salt/Rock Salt
  • Food Color
  • ¼ tsp Glycerin
  • Oils for Fragrance like citrus, orange or peppermint
  • Dry Jars with Lids
Method:
  • Mix your salts in the bowl.
  • Add a few drops of food color and mix well.
  • Add the glycerin and fragrant oils and mix thoroughly.
  • Place your salts in the dry jars and close them tightly.
Note: This makes 3 cups of bath salts.

Pine Cone Ornaments

Things You Need
  • Pine Cones
  • Silver Spray Paint
  • Glitter Confetti (optional)
  • Ribbons (green or red)
  • Fake Snow
  • Hot Glue Gun
Method:
  • Make sure that your pine cones are dry and then spray some silver paint on them.
  • Sprinkle glitter confetti before your spray paint dries so that it sticks to your cone. You can do this to add a bit of sparkle to your pine cone ornament.
  • Make a loop with a red or green ribbon and attach it to the top of your pine cone with a hot glue gun.
  • Use fake snow to cover the ends of the ribbon. This also gives it an effect of snow on your pine cone.
  • You could also spray some fake snow on the tips of the cone to make it look considerably different.
All these are simple things that can spruce up the celebrations this year. The emotional value of the crafts apart, it is the time that your teenagers would spend doing these crafts that matters the most.
