Motivation For Achievement III

1. It is always in season for any man to learn.
2. It is better to have a hen tomorrow than an egg today.
3. It’s loyal when duty calls, Its courage when disaster falls, Its patience when the hours are long, It’s found in laughter and in song, It’s in the silent time of prayer, In happiness and despair, In all of life and nothing else, We know the thing we call maturity.
4. It is well to read everything of something and something of everything.
5. It’s just as sure a recipe for failure to have the right idea fifty years too soon as five years too late.
6. Keep your fears to yourself; share your courage with others.
7. Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No, no laziness, no procrastination: never put off til tomorrow what you can do today.
8. Let us then be up and doing, with a heart from any fate; still achieving, still pursuing, learn to labour and to wait.
9. Many strokes, though with a little axe, Hew down and fell the hardest-timber’d oak.
10. “There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist.”
11. Money-getters are the benefactors of our race. To them we are indebted for our institutions of learning, art, our academics, colleges and churches.
12. Most men fail, not through lack of education, but from lack of dogged determination, from lack of dauntless will.
13. No great man lived in vain. The history of the world is but the biography of great men.
14. No pain, no palm; no thorns, no glory; no cross, no crown. No sweat, no sweet.
15. Not failure, but low aim, is crime.
16. Nothing great is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or a fig. If you tell me that you desire a fig, I answer you that there must be time. Let it first blossom, then bear fruit, then ripen.
17. O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Be thou our guard while troubles last, And our eternal home.
18. O, he flies through the air with the greatest of ease, The daring young man on the flying trapeze.
19. Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
20. Our mind is like a garden which can either be intelligently cultivated or be allowed to run wild.
21. If you want milk you should not sit yourself on a stool in the middle of a field in the hope that the cow will be coming to you.
22. Pennies do not come from heaven. They have to be earned here on earth.
23. People seldom see the halting and painful steps by which the most significant success is achieved.
24. Perseverance is not a long race; it comprises many short races one after another.
25. Plant your words where profit lies: Whiter cloth takes faster dyes.

Take Control

The only way to control your own life is to take responsibility for it.
Yes, there are always circumstances to blame. Yes, there are those who would hold you back. Yes, there are things beyond your control.
Take responsibility anyway. People who achieve greatness, believe that whatever happens to them, they are responsible for it. It may seem unfair, yet it is ultimately liberating.
Whining will get you nowhere. Stepping up and taking responsibility, puts you in control. Take responsibility. Even if it’s not your fault, it’s your life. Even if it’s not your assignment, it’s your job.
You have a choice. You can always find someone, or something, to blame, and thereby allow circumstances and other people to control your life. Or, you can step up and take responsibility, no matter what. That puts you firmly in control, and gives you the power to live your life the way you choose.
