श्री हनुमान स्तुति

मनोजवम् मारुत तुल्यवेगम जितेंद्रियँ बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठम् ।

वातात्मजम् वानर यूथ मुख्यं श्रीरामदूतं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥

Manoj-avam Maruta Tulya Vegam , Jitendriyam Bhudhi-mataam Varishtam ।

Vaataatmajam Vaanara-yoota-mukhyam , Sri Ramadootam Sharanam Prapadye ।।

इस श्लोक में आए हुए तीन विशेषणों बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठम्/वानरयूथमुख्यम्। तथा वातात्मजम्की व्याख्या ज्ञानिनामग्रणण्यम्/वानराणामधीशम्तथा वातजातम्के जैसी है। मनोजवम्अर्थात्मन के समान गति वाले। मारुत तुल्यवेगम्अर्थात्वायु के समान गति वाले। एक विशेषण है- श्रीरामदूतम्। भावार्थ यह कि प्रत्येक क्रिया में वे मन की सी गति से अग्रसर होते हैं, तथापि यह तीव्रगामिता केवल परहित-साधन अथवा स्वामी-हित-साधन तक ही सीमित है। वे मन के अधीन होकर ऐसा कोई कार्य नहीं करते जो उनकी महत्ता का विघातक हो, इसीलिए उनको जितेन्द्रियम्भी कहा गया है।

I surrender to Hanuman, the messenger of Lord Rama, whose speed is as swift as the mind and as swift as the wind, who has controlled his sense organs and is the most intelligent among the intelligent ones; who is the son of Vayu and the chief of the monkey tribe.

Let me pray to the one who is swift as thought (manojavam-), the one who is more powerful than the wind (marut.tulya.vegam-), the one who has conquered his senses (jitendriyam-), the one who is supreme among all intelligent beings, the son of the wind-god (vaataatmajam-), the commander of the army of forest creatures (vaanar.yooth.mukhyam-), Let me find refuge in Lord Rama's Messenger, the incomparable Lord Hanuman. Please accept me and my prayers at your feet.
